Surviving an abusive relationship was a challenging journey that required immense bravery and resilience. It was through discovering strength and fitness in the gym that I began to reclaim my power. Each workout became a metaphor for my struggle; lifting weights not only transformed my body but also fortified my mind, enabling me to confront my fears and build the self-esteem I had lost. As I became physically fit and strong, I found a renewed sense of purpose and clarity that allowed me to recognise the toxicity of my situation and ultimately leave it behind.
